Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Marie-Philip Poulin netted both Canadian goals and Shannon Szabados was exquisite between the pipes with 28 saves, as Canada took home the gold in women's ice hockey for a third straight Olympics with a 2-0 win over the United States.

It was another dominant Olympics for the Canadians, who haven't lost in Olympic competition since the Americans claimed gold at the 1998 Games in Nagano in the event's Olympic debut.

Canada came back in 2002 in Salt Lake City and exacted revenge against their neighbors to the south, taking gold on the Americans' home soil and haven't looked back since.

U.S. goaltender Jessie Vetter put forth a commendable performance with 27 saves in the loss. She withstood two 5-on-3 power-plays by the Canadians and held the host country off the scoreboard after allowing both scores in the first period.

The Americans were eliminated by Sweden in the semifinals at the Torino Games four years ago.
